Short Interview with former Toronto FC goalkeeper Milos Kocic by Djuradj Vujcic
Short Interview with former Toronto FC goalkeeper Milos Kocic
As people may or may not know, former Toronto FC goalkeeper Milos Kocic signed for Hungarian First Division side Gyori ETO FC (usually known simply as Gyor) on June 27th of this year. Kocic left for Hungary on June 19th for a tryout and was successful.

He wears the number 30 for Gyor as he did with Toronto FC and with the Portland Timbers. Kocic made his official debut for Gyor last night in the second leg of the second round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League qualifying stages. Gyor beat Swedish side IFK Goteborg with a score of 1-0 but unfortunately, Goteborg beat Gyor 3-0 in the 1st leg and will advance with a 3-1 win on aggregate.
Kocic did not play in the 1st leg but got the nod as starting keeper in the 2nd leg and impressed in the full ninety minutes, being chosen as Man of the Match.
Interestingly, Kocic is now the second player to play for both the Serbian White Eagles and for Gyor as Aleksandar Radosavljevic played for Gyor from 2010 to 2011 and for the Serbian White Eagles from 2012 to 2013. Kocic played for the Serbian White Eagles in 2010 on loan from Toronto FC and won the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Before signing for Gyor, Kocic retired from football on January 25, 2014 to start a goalkeeping academy and to be with family.
Kocic stated, “I missed playing the past six months and I am really grateful for this opportunity to continue playing professional soccer for a living. Everything is great here, I’m getting used to it. I’m very proud of my team’s performance last night and it wasn’t a bad Europa League debut for me.”
Gyor finished second in the 2013–14 Hungarian season after finishing first in the 2012–13 outing. They won the Hungarian Super Cup in 2013 and finished second in the 2013 Hungarian Cup Final.
