Milan Tasic (Serbia,
1969) is a linguist and editor in the Belgrade
publishing house Beogradska knjiga.
He worked as a journalist in Radio Belgrade’s second program and published the book of poetry called Prolog (Uzice, 1988). For his book Prolog, he earned the Paun Petronijevic Award.
Tasic (along with Radojko Gacevic) published the book Serbian Language – A Guide for Elementary School. This book makes possible the renewal, systemization and teaching of the working basis with an accent on preparing classifications of tests for entering highschool. All the chapters in the book are presented in an informative, trustworthy and easy to follow manner for elementary school students. Taking into consideration that Serbian is mostly taught in elementary schools, this book is a notable, worthwile reminder and guide for older students along with everyone who speaks the Serbian language.
Tasic also published (again collaborating with Radojko Gacevic) the book Grammar of the Serbian Language. The goal of this grammar book is to offer important knowledge for people who want to know the culture of their language and to bring that knowledge to the next level. Due to this, the book doesn’t have the classical grammar structural systems which are usually found in books of this type. Far from it however that the authors didn’t attempt to to put the newest teachings in this book, trying to present them in a way that is understandable to those who don’t have a formal linguistic education.
Milan Tasic is an honourable member of the Urban Book Circle (Canada).
