Marina Bulatovic Barny (Serbia, 1964) is a Serbian journalist, author and PR consultant.
In the early 1990s she began a career in public relations, working in leading companies and marketing agencies. Among other things, she was director of the PR sector of Ogilvy & Mather, PR consultant in the Communis agency and PR manager of EUnet.
She writes for newspapers and magazines in Serbia, Montenegro and Canada. After her marriage in September 2007, Marina moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the only Arab country that has never had diplomatic relations with Serbia despite Saudi Arabia’s international importance. Even though the permanent representatives to the United Nations from Serbia and Saudi Arabia signed a Protocol on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries in New York in the spring of 2013 – this idea has yet to become a reality. Marina decided to get personally involved in acquainting the two countries with each other to bring them as close together as possible.
In 2010, Marina received recognition for Personal Civic Initiative in the Field of Communication from the PR Society of Serbia for the photography exhibition Saudi Arabia through My Lens. She received the award of Business Woman of 2010 from the Club of Economic Journalists for the same project.
Marina is a member of the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia, the PR Society of Serbia and the Nikola Tesla Memorial Society in New York. She is a contributor to the Urban Book Circle (Canada).
Nina of Arabia is her first novel.
