Dragi Ivic (Serbia, 1953) is a writer. Born in Tetovo into a family of officers, he received his elementary and secondary education studying in Pozarevac. He studied at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and graduated from the FDU in Belgrade as part of the section for organising scenic and cultural arts, now known as scene production. He graduated with a grade of ten and an average grade of 9.39 throughout his studies.
From 1972-1982, as a contributor to the Culture House in Pozarevac, he earned a lot of experience in the organization and realization of all kinds of diffusing culture.
In 1982, during the opening of the new Youth and Pioneer Centre in Pozarevac, he formally began his consistent employment for them.
Durng his career, he has worked as: advertising and propaganda officer, head of technical service, program editor and administrator of the Cultural Centre and assistant director. He now works as director of the Pozarevac Cultural Centre. He worked as a professor in high schools (gymnasium and music school) and he taught and prepared various generations. Through these jobs, he completely achieved the methodology of management and the organization and production of scenic works. He speaks two foreign languages: English and Russian.
Ivic was awarded the October Award of the city of Belgrade for his technical and scientific student works and was also awarded the October Award of the city of Pozarevac. He is an honourable member of the Urban Book Circle in Canada. Among other achievements, he won the Golden Plaque for being a volunteer blood donator and was the youngest member of the Barili Association of Fine Arts.
He was accepted into the association as a child prodigy in the fifth grade of elementary school.
As a calligrapher, designer and atelier owner, he designed hundreds of posters, organized numerous art shows, scenographies and a huge number of ulititary publishings.
Working in literary arts, he was member of the editing team of the magazine Razvitak, editor of Branicevo, founder of the Literary Youth of Pozarevac, Literary Atelier etc. He is the founder of the only anti-magazine named Deponija which translates to Dump. He edited and wrote prologues for numerous fiction books and continues to publish for various magazines. He is also the administrator and one of the founders of MyCity Military, the largest military history forum in the Serbian language.
